Do you suffer from these symptoms?

Woman suffering from jaw pain

Nighttime symptoms: Teeth grinding, intense clenching, waking up with a sore jaw, non-restorative sleep.

Daytime symptoms: Morning headaches, temple pain, tired jaw, sensitive or worn teeth.

Long-term consequences: Premature tooth wear, dental fractures, TMJ problems, chronic pain.

Why a night guard alone is not always enough

Botox injection in the masseter

A night guard protects the teeth but does not reduce clenching force. Neuromodulators injected into the masseter muscles reduce this force by 60-80%, providing relief that a night guard alone cannot deliver.

The ideal combination: Neuromodulators (reduce the force) + night guard (protects the teeth) = maximum relief.

Questions — Therapeutic Use

Is therapeutic Botox different from cosmetic Botox?

It is the same product, used differently. In therapeutic use, larger doses are injected into the masseter muscles. The goal is muscle relaxation.

Will I be able to eat normally?

Yes. The doses used reduce the FORCE of clenching but not the FUNCTION. You will be able to chew normally.

Is it covered by insurance?

Sometimes. Some insurance plans cover therapeutic Botox for bruxism or migraines with a prescription. We provide all the necessary documents.

Are there side effects?

Rare. Possibility of slight temporary weakness when chewing. Very rarely, a slightly asymmetric smile that is temporary. All effects are temporary.

Can I stop wearing my night guard if I get injections?

Not recommended. The combination is ideal: neuromodulators reduce the force, the night guard protects the teeth.
