Graduated from the University of Paris V (France) in dental surgery, top of his class with honors, and later earned ahospital certificate in oral implantology (University of Paris XII). Dr. David Benguira moved to Quebec in July 2002 to practice dentistry. As a versatile practitioner, he worked for six years as a general dentist performing complex surgical procedures, implants, endodontics, prosthodontics, cosmetic dentistry, and managing TMJ disorders and sleep apnea. His experience makes him a particularly valuable collaborator for multidisciplinary dental cases.

Dr. David Benguira served as chief resident and clinical instructor in operative dentistry and periodontics atMcGill University and theMontreal General Hospital from 2003 to 2004, where he supervised dental trainees while maintaining his private practice.

In 2007, Dr. David Benguira was admitted to the highly selective orthodontic specialty program at the University of Montreal – only four orthodontists are trained per year in Quebec. Dr. Benguira holds aMaster of Science degreeand conducted research on the biomechanical properties of next-generation orthodontic wires. His research was presented at the Canadian Association of Orthodontists (CAO) conference. Since 2010, he has been a certified orthodontic specialist, recognized by the Order of Dentists of Quebec and the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, where he is aFellow..
He is also an orthodontist atSte-Justine Hospitalin Montreal, where he founded the outpatient orthodontic clinic in 2010 for medically compromised patients (Autism, ADHD, Down syndrome, cancer, joint, hematological, and functional disorders). He is aspeaker and offers continuing education to dentists on the intersection of orthodontics and oral surgery, as well as on managing dental and orthodontic care for medically compromised and special-needs patients.

Since 2025, Dr. David Benguira has incorporated facial aesthetic treatments using neuromodulators (botulinum toxin) and dermal fillers into his practice. This natural progression builds on his extensive knowledge of facial, muscular, and vascular anatomy, gained through years of experience in surgical orthodontics. His expertise in facial proportions and aesthetic balance, combined with a trained clinical eye from managing hundreds of complex cases, makes him a highly precise and meticulous practitioner in facial aesthetics.
Neuromodulator treatment is not limited to aesthetics: it also has well-established therapeutic applications, including the management of temporomandibular joint pain, tension headaches, and the correction of gummy smiles (smiles with excessive gum display).
